At
long last, by popular request... it's the Intuitive Eating episode!
If you've never heard of intuitive eating, never fear. We ease into this sprawling beast of a topic with a simple explanation, courtesy of the good folks at Wikipedia:
"Intuitive eating is a nutrition philosophy based on the premise that becoming more attuned to the body's natural hunger signals is a more effective way to attain a healthy weight; rather than keeping track of the amounts of energy and fats in foods. It's a process that is intended to create a healthy relationship with food, mind, and body.
Intuitive Eating, just like the many books available today, goes by many names, including non-dieting or the non-diet approach, normal eating, wisdom eating, conscious eating and more."
(Emphasis ours.)
Intuitive eating is a very personal experience. There is no right or wrong and there are no rules, so today we're sharing our own experiences, plus some tips and ideas for getting started with your own journey, if you wish to to climb aboard.
Carla shares her perspective of being an intuitive eater for over a decade, while Shauna talks about how, after a lifetime of dieting, she's now exploring a more mindful approach to food and life in general. And then we wrap it all up with another Carla's juicy acronyms!
